If you suspect you might have the mumps, call your physician. You need to be tested and diagnosed.

There is no treatment for mumps and it does not respond to antibiotics. It can however, lead to more serious illness such as meningitis. It can also cause deafness and orchitis (swelling of the testicles) which can lead to infertility.
